We have missed you!!! It’s hard to believe we went an entire year without STRIVERS! Your coaches could not be more excited to get things up and running for you and your daughters!
We recognize that the pandemic is still not behind us but, we feel confident we can host STRIVERS while adhering to EEA Youth and Amateur Sports guidelines and still deliver the best experience to your daughters. Our sessions may be more fluid and we expect some hiccups along the way however, we are determined to make it happen!
The biggest change you’ll see is the number of enrollments we can accept at this time. To keep everyone safe, healthy and lower the risks of group sports we will only accept 25 girls in each session.
We will continue to monitor what the state dictates in the coming months for group size and we hope to open more spots eventually in each session. For more information on the MIAA Rules Modifications & Guidelines we will be following please use this link: http://www.miaa.net/gen/miaa_generated_bin/documents/basic_module/Indoor_Track_Modifications_Fall_II_2021.pdf
I know running became my “go-to” over the past year during this pandemic and it has helped me not only stay physically healthy but, mentally grounded as well. Our spring STRIVERS sessions will not only aim to give your daughters a reason to run and provide companionship (safely) as she runs, we are also going to focus on the happiness and mindfulness that running can bring to all of us. Check out our special events and speakers to see how we hope to reinforce this.
All road races continue to be virtual at this time. We will be looking into new way to end our STRIVERS season with some kind of 5k to celebrate the girls dedication and training.
We will be working with Coach D of FIERCE by Choice ( Fight, Inspire, Encourage, Reach, Coach, Empower) this spring. We’re fusing a full body bootcamp, fierce mindset coaching, and a grounding yoga series into one of our practices. This practice has been designed to help the girls and team let go of limiting beliefs, challenge their bodies in ways that compliment their running, and shows them what they are truly capable of both on and off the track. https://www.fiercebychoice.com/
Betty Robinson was the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal in Track & Field. She later transformed tragedy into triumph winning a second gold medal in the 1936 Olympics. At the age of 84, she carried the Olympic Torch as it blazed a path toward Atlanta, GA for the 1996 Olympic Games. Betty’s granddaughter, Brook Doire, will visit us and talk about her amazing life, positive outlook and how she overcame multiple set backs to achieve happiness. https://www.bettyrobinson.org/
STRIVERS’ dad and friend to all, Mark Goldschmidt will visit us for a practice and explain why happiness is an advantage that can help all of us improve performance along with mental and physical health. He will include research-driven proactive and reactive habits that can make us happier. Mark is the Coordinator and Teacher for the Resiliency for Life Program at Framingham High School. He has been seeking to learn more and more about the science of happiness so that he can benefit from it in his own life, but also to convey it to his students, colleagues, and the runners in the Couch to 5K Program that he helps coordinate through the Greater Framingham Running Club.
For our community outreach project we are going to work with Mark and his four legged friend Nala, a trained assistance dog from NEADS (neads.org). Nala goes to school with Mark every day to comfort his students. We’ll tell you more about this project once our sessions begin.

Our program runs twice a year, Fall and Spring. We limit the number of girls we take in each session in order to make this experience rewarding for your daughter and allow us to maintain the intimacy of the group. Girls interested in STRIVERS should have some athletic ability and the desire to run.
Financial Support is Available: If your daughter would like to be part of STRIVERS and financial assistance is needed, please contact Colleen Phelps at [email protected]
Refund Policy: The registration fee minus $50 processing fee will be refunded if cancellation occurs before the first week of practice. No refunds will be issued after the session starts.
