Program Overview

Fall 2023 Registration Opens June 14th at 7:00 am!

15 Years of Proven Success!

Since the Fall of 2009, the STRIVERS Running Club for Girls has been known for developing strong, confident, athletic, and community loyal young women. We achieve this through the process of training and completing a 5k road race within a supportive team environment. We are passionate about the STRIVERS mission and continuously look for ways to enhance the program.

As an avid runner for over 30 years, nothing makes me happier than sharing my love of the sport with young girls.  If you commit to running, it delivers so much more than just the physical benefits of endurance, speed, and strength.  Running also brings, lifelong friends and teammates, unforgettable experiences and mental fortitude.

Yes, running can be challenging and to quote one of my running role models:

Don’t try to rush the progress.  Remember – a step forward, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction.” – Kara Goucher

STRIVERS is here to help you take that first step by supporting you through training and introducing you to women who have used running to help themselves and their community. Our coaches are here to support your goals and cheer you across your finish line!

You’ll find the Fall 2023 season outlined below.  We are offering only one session this fall.

STRIVERS is a unique program

Not only do we run, we bring the best running has to your daughter’s development by also providing unique opportunities for her to grow and mature.  We combine six weeks of training with other  STRIVERS events, including a community awareness project, cross training exposure, a fall speaker and a 5k road race!

Cross Training

We will be working again with Coach D of FIERCE by Choice ( Fight, Inspire, Encourage, Reach, Coach, Empower) this fall. We’re fusing a full body bootcamp, fierce mindset coaching, and a grounding yoga series into one of our practices.  This practice has been designed to help the girls and team let go of limiting beliefs, challenge their bodies in ways that compliment their running, and shows them what they are truly capable of both on and off the track. https://www.fiercebychoice.com/

She also has now run a Marathon in all 50 states and is on her to Tokyo in March to complete the World Marathon Majors. Which includes running the following marathons: Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York City. A speaker, author, and inspiration we are thrilled to also call her a friend!

Community Outreach

We will be supporting the local charity Backpacks for Kids FoundationThe Backpacks for Kids Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing children in need in the Greater Boston area with backpacks and school supplies for the upcoming school year. Backpacks for Kids was founded in 2001 by Dover-Sherborn High School students. Financial Support is Available: If your daughter would like to be part of STRIVERS and financial assistance is needed, please contact Colleen Phelps at [email protected].

Refund Policy: The registration fee minus $50 processing fee will be refunded if cancellation occurs before the first week of practice. No refunds will be issued after the session starts.
