Thomas Madut was born in Turalei, South Sudan and moved to the US in March 2001. Thomas visited the team the before running the Boston Marathon 2013.  Thomas has placed 46th in the Boston Marathon 2012 and was an invited runner for this year’s race.  In order to prepare for Thomas’ visit, the team read “A Long Walk to Water” to help the girls gain a deeper understand of his background. His message was one of resilience, determination, and strong self belief.  We loved Thomas and cannot wait for his return next year to visit and run in the Marathon again!
